Supervision and Consultation
In 2023 I made the decision to become an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. In April 2025, I will have my designation. Becoming an AAMFT Approved Supervisor is a way to demonstrate a commitment to the highest standards of training and supervision in the field of marriage and family therapy.
Why is this important?
The therapy field can be uninviting to new therapists because of large caseloads and having to navigate EHR (electronic health record) systems. What they do not teach in graduate programs is a large portion of what is necessary to be a good therapist and that includes things like treatment planning, completing session notes, insurance rules, and advocating for clients. The landscape of therapy has changed over the years, and navigating private practice, group practices, and agency work, can be overwhelming, demanding, and discouraging.
I am licensed in the state of Connecticut to provide supervision towards licensure for MFT associates and LPC associates.
I recognize the importance of seeking consultation and supervision, as best practice requires avoiding isolation. Not only do I receive supervision/consultation from others, I also provide this to licensed practitioners looking to gain better understanding of case conceptualization.
